WELCOME

We are living in one of the most transformational times in human history. A time where new emerging technologies are changing with exponential speed, scope and complexity, the way we live, work, learn and communicate with each other. No part of life will be left untouched by technology.

It can be expected that humanity will change more over the next 20 years than it has over the last 300. How will we cope with all these changes? Who do we want to be in a digitally transformed future? Will it be the worst of times or the best of times? Do we überhaupt have a choice in the matter, in our future? Although we cannot control everything, if we look around today, almost everything we see is determined by human choices.

TEDx stands for ideas worth spreading and ideas that inspires people to change their lives, their futures and ultimately their world. With the theme "Living in the Future Present" TEDxVilvoorde is bringing together thinkers and doers with ideas worth spreading to create for you inspiring, thought-provoking and mind-blowing life, futures and world changing conversations that matter.

Topics that will be addressed are:
  • Why and how to bring the future into focus?
  • What can space exploration teach us and why it matters?
  • The Future of Work? Work of the Future!
  • What are the cultural implications of space exploration?
  • Why and how can organizations and governments transform by leveraging exponential technologies?

WHAT IS TEDx

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
